VaM-X respects the intellectual property rights of others. We operate as a neutral indexing service provider in strict accordance with the Digital Millennium Copyright Act (17 U.S.C. § 512).

IMPORTANT NOTICE: We enforce a strict notice-and-takedown procedure. Incomplete, non-compliant, or informal requests (e.g., standard emails without legal formatting) will be automatically discarded by our automated legal compliance system.

1. Filing a Notification of Infringement

To file a valid DMCA takedown notice, you must provide a written communication that strictly includes ALL of the following data points (pursuant to 17 U.S.C. § 512(c)(3)):

  • A. Physical or Electronic Signature: A valid signature of a person authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.
  • B. Identification of Copyrighted Work: Sufficient detail to identify the copyrighted work claimed to have been infringed (e.g., direct link to your original store page or registration number).
  • C. Identification of Infringing Material: Specific URLs on VaM-X where the material is located. (Note: General homepage links or search queries are invalid).
  • D. Contact Information: Your mailing address, telephone number, and email address.
  • E. Good Faith Statement: A statement that you have a good faith belief that use of the material in the manner complained of is not authorized by the copyright owner, its agent, or the law.
  • F. Perjury Statement: A statement that the information in the notification is accurate, and under penalty of perjury, that you are authorized to act on behalf of the owner of an exclusive right that is allegedly infringed.

2. Submission Channel

Valid notices must be formatted as a PDF or formal text document and sent to our designated agent:

3. Penalties for False Claims

Please be aware that under 17 U.S.C. § 512(f), you may be liable for any damages, including costs and attorneys' fees incurred by us or our users, if you knowingly materially misrepresent that material or activity is infringing.

4. Counter-Notification

If access to your content was disabled due to a mistake or misidentification, you may file a counter-notification within 10 business days. This process implies consent to the jurisdiction of the Federal District Court.
